Kate: Good afternoon, professor.

Professor Beckham: Good afternoon, Kate. Please, sit down. I have some important things to tell you.

Kate: OK! What’s happen?

Professor Beckham: Your essay has some problems. Are these your own ideas?

Kate: No at all. Some sentence I found it on internet.

Professor Beckham: That’s the problem. Your plagiarism by copying others peoples sentences right into your essay. But you didn’t write down where you get it. That’s cheating. It is illegal, so I didn’t give any score to your essay.

Kate: What? I didn’t know that before. I’m sorry about that.

Professor Beckham: I think I can give you one chance to rewrite your paper. But remember that, write your own opinion and sentence. Don’t plagiarism others twice!!

Kate: Thanks a lot. I will work harder on my essay. Thank you for giving me a chance to correct my mistake.

What is plagiarism? Plagiarism is the copying of sentences or words of other writers to use in their own article. If you want to quote other writer’s sentences and words you must use quotation marked and references. Now, many universities copied the article, there are inadvertent plagiarism, there are deliberate plagiarism, and some even copied the writer's thinking. Plagiarism is a very serious problem in the United States. It may even affect your learning career, and the future. So, I think student plagiarism is so dangerous. We must know how to correct cite other people’s word and idea.

How has western culture influenced your own country???what have been the pluses and the minuses of western influence?
Western culture already had certain influence to China! But, Chinese culture and Western culture are two distinct civilizations. Specially in education aspect! Now in China, many place educational institution all start adopt to West's education! The western teaching can let the students study independently, form the better study habit, achieves the better study benefit! The only shortcoming is, the Western education is not all suits to each people, the independence understood ability not good students. Like the movie, the pushman doesn’t understand the our culture. So I think as different culture background and enviroment, there are many difference and divergences between Chinese culture and Western culture.

This essay talk about Laura Carey living in Barcelona, she teaching English and study Spanish. First of all, she join such groups, it's hard to join. In addiation, she come to learning Spanish and Teach English, she study hard, but she felt situation, hei student segregate themselves by nationality/ she don't understand, why the students do that. Third, some times she feel fear, Barcelona is different than U.S. She feel the cultural. Finally, she know her student have different program, she try to know it. The last paragraph talk about herself.
So, i think she have a lot of gawky in Spain, we can learn more experience from this essay and can help you how to survive in other country.
